Agronomy is the study of plants and soils and how they interact to optimize production
The soil and plant are designed to work in synchrony together to replenish each other’s needs. The soil gives minerals and nutrients to the crop and the crop exudes carbon and sugars back through its roots system to the soil. The carbon and sugars feed the microorganisms in the soil, which in turn release more minerals and nutrients that the plant can utilize.
When you see the world of agriculture in the proper manner and understand how soils and plants work together, many of the questions concerning crop production can be answered.
